Pottermore members who’ve been putting their wands and cauldrons to good use to earn points for their houses will be excited to know that the awarding of the next Pottermore House Cup is almost upon us. Today we can confirm that the winners of the fifth Pottermore House Cup Championship will be announced on Sunday March 30. In the run up to the award ceremony we’ll be kicking things off on Monday March 17 with house pride week.
What is house pride week?
During house pride week there will be a day dedicated to each of the four houses, giving their members a chance to show their house pride (even more than usual). You’ll see thousands of Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs and Slytherins sharing their pride and we hope you’ll join them.
This year we’d like to invite you to create a short YouTube, Vine or Instagram video displaying your house pride. The video should include and continue the following phrase: “Hi Pottermore community, I am proud to be a Hufflepuff/Slytherin/Gryffindor/Ravenclaw because…”, and use one of the following tags: #SlytherinPride, #GryffindorPride, #HufflepuffPride, or #RavenclawPride. Come back to the Pottermore Insider on Friday 14, as we’ll be giving you more details on how to take part!
Important: When creating your video remember:
Who will be victorious?
The hour-glasses will be concealed on Friday March 28 and the House Cup will be awarded on Sunday March 30. Those of you who have been sorted can head to the Great Hall to see the House Cup ceremony for yourselves. Will Gryffindor or Hufflepuff match Slytherin’s run? Will the snakes gain their third win, or will Ravenclaw soar to victory for the very first time in Pottermore history?
How to earn points for your house
With so few points separating the four houses, it’s time to make one last push on behalf of your house. You can earn points by collecting items in Moments (excluding Galleons), successfully brewing potions and winning wizard duels against members of other houses. You may also want to rally your fellow house members in your common room as every point counts.

- Not to share any personal details that could allow others to identify you (including Pottermore usernames!)
