It’s certainly been the most competitive Pottermore House Cup to date, but after millions of duels fought and potions brewed, the third Pottermore House Cup was awarded to Slytherin on Thursday April 25.
We would like to congratulate Slytherin on winning the third Pottermore House Cup. However, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff all deserve a mention, as this was the closest run Pottermore House Cup so far.
Although Hufflepuff were in the lead for many weeks, during late March the point difference between the four houses became almost non-existent. Slytherin sprang into first place closely followed by Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. During the last days of the competition Gryffindor moved to third place and Hufflepuff closed the gap between themselves and Slytherin from over 500,000 to less than 300,000 points. Unfortunately Hufflepuff just weren’t able to come back in such a short space of time.
From Thursday April 24 to Sunday April 28, the Pottermore House Cup award ceremony could be enjoyed in the Great Hall. In case you missed it, we recorded it and you will be able to play it below.
As winners of the third Pottermore House Cup, Slytherin members will get early access to a Monstrose Magpies badge. The Montrose Magpies, as all Quidditch fans know, are the most successful Quidditch team in British and Irish league history. Members of Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff will be able to collect this badge from one of the Moments in the next instalment of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The house points have now been re-set, so it’s time to get your wands ready for duelling and start brewing potions to help your house win the next Pottermore House Cup. The stakes are higher than ever, will Slytherin continue its impressive performance and hold the title? Will Gryffindor be able to match Slytherin’s record with a second win? Or will Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw earn the glory that their houses deserve? Your skills at duelling and brewing will decide!
